- What is your favourite album of the past year?
Savia Roja by Las Luces Primeras !!! Old school vintage organ 60’s psych retro pop kind of vibe hahaha The Lead singer Mariano Peccinetti is also a very talented Psychedelic & Surrealist Collage artist.
- Some people suggested that Lockdown could turn out to be one of the most creative times. What is your personal experience?
Just before the lockdown, I was in studio with the band. We recorded 10 tracks I wrote the past summer…. We were about to do few shows in Montreal, then boom ! Everything closed. I was not completely satisfied with what we did in studio, so I decided to re-compose the entire album again. I wrote and recorded the new album between my living-room and my kitchen… in two months, so yes, definitely a creative time for me !
- Should we expect a full album? Do people still listen to full albums?
Yes, the full album is coming, I wanted to release it this winter, but it’s probably gonna be next year… I want to do this the right way ! And yes ! I think people start to listen to full album again. The Records sales can prove it ! I really like to compose an album with intros, interludes, outros, etc… like if I was telling a story.
- If you could change anything about the music industry, what would it be?
It could be nice to rebalance the deal between platforms (Spotify, Apple Music, Itunes, etc) and artists. These are good tools, but not so fair…
- Rock music is not at its peak at the moment, at least in terms of popularity. How do you think it can manage to bounce back soon?
Sometimes one artist or one band can make the difference. It’s the same for all kind of music. I’m a big fan of jazz, soul, and blues music…. Old stuff… Charles Bradley, Leon Bridges, Lee Fields, Vulfpeck, Kruhangbin, and many others brought it back ! I don’t think it’s all about creating something new, but something good.
- Tekken, Street Fighter or Mortal Kombat?
Street Fighter, nobody can beat me I choose the character Edmond Honda.
- One last thing we should know about you?
I used to have a hedgehog Called Henry.
