Jakob Balogh – portraits of blood – Nordic Noir

The composer is setting the tone from the first few seconds. C minor followed by A-flat minor. I’m personally already hooked. Marked by suspense, portraits of blood – Nordic Noir is a carefully crafted, skillfully arranged, 13 track project by German composer Jakob Balogh. It’s the type of music that begs for wide-screen movies to be shot to. Up-close-and-personal piano motifs are mixed with dark string sections and evolving, haunting soundscapes resulting in a sound that sends the listener into this transcending state, very difficult to explain in words. You may not know it yet, but it is your favourite soundtrack of a movie you have never watched. Turn off the lights, look through your window at the darkest corner, put on your headphones and click play.
