[Just in time to be late for Black History month but right on time to say that we should be educating ourselves every month of the year, here comes a new ‘Song for Change’.]
‘Black Woman’ is the latest single from singer- songwriter Emanuel, who released his debut EP ‘Alt Therapy Session 1: Dissilusion’ earlier this year. The single, which was written over a year ago and filmed in L.A but came out this October, dresses musically the “Black Woman” portrait series, a project which features prominent Black women hailing from Toronto’s creative scene.
The song follows a similar spirit with the series, that of celebrating the immense power and beauty of the Black woman’s heart, soul and body. It is emotional, atmospheric, realism is flowing and love echoes.
