Minimalist at its core and deeply tied to classic dub techno roots “Watchers of the Sky – as I see it” is characterised by its spacious, airy arrangement. Driven by subtle variations and long-tail effect chains the track relies on steady, gradual filtering across its main layers to build its atmosphere. The hypnotically dreamy synth pads are a masterclass in cinematic sound design. Beneath them the kick drum carries a lot of high-frequency click and punch but strips away the low end to give the deep and warm sub the necessary room to breathe, though you will need proper headphones or a solid sound system to actually feel its weight. The Lithuanian duo are hardly newcomers, having dropped their debut Plug & Play back in 1996. Nearly three decades later, they are still here, capturing that oldschool emotion for 90’s ravers while introducing their sound in a whole new generation.
