Sometimes, the process doesn’t matter, it’s the end result that counts. We shouldn’t mistake complexity for quality anyway, there’s no correlation. In “Expandable Rotor,” Floced uses just two basic chords to craft a quintessential synthwave sound that you’ll beg to have on an endless loop. The craftsmanship behind these synth arpeggios is masterful and the atmosphere it evokes is difficult to pin down. Personally, I catch a glimmer of hope cutting through a dark dystopia, but as a listener, you can find your own meaning. There are no boundaries here.
The machine itself might not have a soul, but it can absolutely evoke emotion. You just have to be willing to listen and feel it.
