Tell us a few things about Handsome but Pitiful. What is the main idea behind it?
Relationships aren’t so black and white. You can feel many ways about one person you feel me.. It’s about good friends and bad friends, and ugly friends.
You spent two decades independently honing your crafts. How did their individual experiences contribute to the unique sound and style of Siblings today?
We’re gonna answer for one another. Quinn has a very soulful voice that she’s been honing in her own projects. She’s recently started producing more in the last couple years and that certainly comes into play during our sessions, but it was initially her powerful voice that was a leading contribution to the beginning of our project.
Iko spent years learning how to craft tracks in a way that feels down-to-earth, developing a unique production style. Their technical expertise and musical know-how has made it very easy to collaborate with them. And because we are so familiar with each other, Iko can understand what I’m trying to get at musically even if I don’t have the exact words.
Your sound has a sweet nostalgia touch. Why nostalgia feels so good?
It’s the sense of comfort one feels when visiting their childhood home… Listening to an old favorite song… Core memories render themselves alive at smell, touch, sound… Let our sonic nostalgia wrap you in a melodic blanket, we are your mother for a few minutes ….

Remi Wolf, the Buddha, Of Montreal, Jean-Luc Picard, Bombay Bicycle Club,
Charli XCX, and Jack Black. In that order.

Iko has this really funny habit where they annoy the fuck out of me
