Composer and pianist Sasi Shalom is showcasing his track Shari, a relaxing and simply beautiful composition, with the help of his quartet. The piece, which is part of the album titled Moments of Eternity, focuses on the piano, with dreamy, melancholic melodies throughout the track, however the way the band accompanies is also, just sublime. Antonio Sanchez on drums and Desmond White on the bass create a steady, tight swing cymbal groove that captures the essence of the authentic, classy, vintage sound. Donny McCaslin on sax enriches the arrangement with some vibrant improvisations. Imagine being in a smoke filled, cheap apartment with a brick wall, reading a crime noir listening to this one. Mesmerizing!
