Describe your sound in 3 words

Sexy, Abrasive, Clever

Tell us a few things about Wine Cave Fundraiser. What is the main idea behind it?

Wine Cave was actualy written around two years ago, during the 2020 Democratic Party Presidential primaries.
Pete Buttigeg had a fundariser in billionaires Wine Cave, somewhere in Napa valley. The idea of these rich elites, sipping expensive wine and grooming the next potential Prisdent, while still thinkig they were the “good guys” amused me. Wine Cave Fundraiser is sort of a response to that, a campaign song where canditate Katz offers nothing but himself, his inflated ego and promise to burn whole thing down, while his followers bask in the chaos and beauty of destruction.
Or something like that…..

What does hip hop symbolise in your opinion?

Intelligence, creativity, poetry, power, identity, masculinity, femininity, rebellion, struggle, humour, sex, community, blackness, activism, progress, ruthless ambition and raw naked capatalism……HIP HOP is EVERYTHING

Why is sexism, and even outright misogyny, so pervasive in Hip Hop culture?

Oh boy here we go haha….You know I think we live in a pretty sexist, misogynistic society in general and it has nothing to do with Hip Hop. Look at the goverment we have.
In any male dominated genre….which is practically all of them, you are going to find elements of sexism and misogny. So yeah rappers might use alot of language that is percieved to be sexist or misogynistic, even I’m guilty of that at times lol. But there is also an awful lot of sexual misconduct going about on the Indie scene for example. They just pretend to be soft bois. So I really think its more a society thing than a Hip hop thing

Do you think there is a true underground hip hop sound today?

Yes but it’s in a constant state of flux and absored by the mainstream far too quickly.
That being said, I’m ready to sell out as soon as they’ll have me

Your most honest and personal lyric?

I take the B out of Banal and put the D there

What advice would you give to your younger self?

Learn a trade. The poets life is torture

What isn’t a crime but should be?

That skinny jeans, loafers with no socks look. Throw all those guys in jail

Thank you!
