‘Turn Up, Tune In, Drop One’ | Interview with R U Init?

Το λακωνίζειν εστί φιλοσοφείν. In English Less is more. R U Init? pays homage to the golden age of electronic music. Read our discussion with the secretive art collective below!

Describe your sound in three words

Are You Init

Tell us a few things about your new track N.A.T.O. (A Night At The Opera) . What is the main idea behind it?

N.A.T.O is the musical embodiment of driving past yourself on the M25 and giving yourself a little wave – pretty self explanatory.

Would it be safe to assume that The Prodigy is one of your main influences? Tell us the artists and people who have influenced and inspired you?

It’s never safe to assume anything! The movement as a whole is our biggest influence and this will become apparent as the project develops. If anything darkness, light, rhythm, bass, dance, the AKAI S3000xl & Sudafed helped along the way.

If a time machine could take you anywhere for a day, which rave party would you go to?

The R U Init Warehouse Experience 2022

Which single/album introduced you to the scene?

There is no one moment or sound that can define this. The catalyst was a combination of music, art, fashion that caused a perfect storm and brought us together.

If you had to choose one Synthesizer (analog or digital) which one would it be?

808

There are a couple of movies trying to capture the atmosphere of a rave, does any of them do justice?

Not really you have to be there. The experience is something at the heart of what we are about.

What’s your advice to humanity?

Turn Up, Tune In, Drop One

Thank you!
