It may be the lovely playful piano riff in the intro. The elegant vocal delivery. Or the bass driven groove. Either way, you will fall in love with it. In case you have never been to New York, listening to this one will make you experience this Nighttime Feeling. Read our discussion with the band below!
How Did You Meet?
We met in college in a mandatory jazz ensemble.
Tell us a few things about Nighttime Feeling. What is the story behind it?
Nighttime feeling is a song about New York. Tori is orginally from the east coast so we often talk about spending more time there. This is a kind of ode to the city.
You are based in LA but you wrote a song for NY. What do you love/hate about each place?
Both are such great places but so different. LA is essentially a bunch of neighborhoods where as NY is a real city. Driving in LA is horrible but doing things like playing shows and carrying your gear on the subway seems terrible in NY.
The piano line in Nighttime Feeling is lovely. Tell us your favorite piano riff you wish you had composed yourself.
Here You Come Again by Dolly Parton
Favorite album of the past decade?
Blonde by Frank Ocean
Your biggest fear?
Heights or the open ocean
What is the story behind your name?
