WORLD BRAIN is the solo outlet for Lucas Ufo, who you might know from Berlin-based experimental pop band Fenster.
‘Test screen’ hits a really sweet spot, it feels genuinely playful without taking itself too seriously, while still packing a warm, nostalgic punch. At its heart, the instrumental track is driven by a steady cozy bedroom style groove, characterised by a super inviting chord progression. And it is that chord progression that makes you wanna put it on repeat and just lose yourself in it for hours. Most of the layers are slightly detuned, giving everything that warped, old-toy feel. It makes you wonder though, did those cheap toys actually sound like this, or is that just your memory playing games with you?
