Mary Middlefield’s Milk begins with a organic organ layer that beautifully supports the long, evocative vocal line. The chorus builds beautifully with pizzicato strings and mellow woodwinds before a lush, full-bodied string section takes over creating a melody that feels deeply welcoming yet carries a bittersweet edge.
