McKenzie Stubbert – Never I Know [Review]

“Never I Know,” the album opener by McKenzie Stubbert, an Emmy-nominated and AMP Award-winning composer based in Los Angeles, showcases a sweet cinematic quality. The songwriting of the track exhibits a delightful sense of playfulness. One notable aspect of the piece is its warm and organic sound, which was largely captured using a 1949 Acrosonic piano. The age-induced wear and tear of this instrument contribute to a rich and inviting tone while the resonance and timbre of the instrument result in a more complex and percussive sound, giving the composition a unique charm. Keep an eye out for the album “Waiting Room,” set to be released on August 18th via Curious Music.
