Tell us a few things about Heartbeat. What is the story behind it?
Heartbeat is an introductory meditation into entering the human form. Through this song I am trying to explain what it means to be alive to a non sentient being by showing the gravity of having a beating heart through lyrics and sound design. I produced, wrote, and arranged Heartbeat using the Juno 106, my voice, and drums. It is an epic and cinematic approach to music as a listening experience. So close your eyes, feel the heart beat and fall in love with it for your body.

Nothing but a body and, elegant and bound to die
so performative and magical, breathe it in and come alive

Are we approaching the singularity? How this would (or would not) impact the music industry?
I think it will impact the music industry immensely. We are already seeing generative AI’s ability to identify and create “good” music. This is scary but also very exciting. I think, well, I hope, that it will add so much noise to the already oversaturated world of content that the magic of human innovation through music will really have an opportunity to shine through.
Is Juno 106 your go to synth when you start a new project?
Yes. The Juno 106 is crucial to the soundscape of my music.
If you were arrested, what would it be for?
Probably loitering. I like to wander around outside and go on a lot of walks. Sometimes I feel like I look suspicious when I stop tostare at a leaf for 30 minutes or something.
What would be the tagline to the sitcom of your life?
Hungry for answers, experience, and chocolate chips.
