‘Enjoy The Ride’ | Interview with Räre Birds

Trippy and mind-melting, Räre Birds’ Rush of Adrenaline has a sound that feels somewhat intoxicating. Read our discussion with the Stockholm based band below!

Describe your sound in three words

1Enjoy 2The 3Ride

Tell us a few things about Rush of Adrenaline. What is the main idea behind it?

There wasn’t a clear idea. The song kind of evolved from that simple guitar-riff(rhythm). Once I had the chord structure, the lead melody and lyrics fell into place pretty quickly.

Which band drives the neo psychedelia sound today?

There’s a Swedish band called “Dungen”. They released an album this year which is great.

What do you love/hate about Stockholm? And how do you relate to its music scene?

Stockholm is like any bigger city, a melting pot of stuff. But the livescene isn’t that good. A lot of venues have closed down recently. Hopefully we’ll see new ones pop up as a result. Guess there’s a scene for electronic music and stuff but there isn’t really one for what we’re doing. We’re putting up our own shows.

Tell us a guitar/synth riff you wish you had composed yourselves?

maybe “Every 1s a Winner” or “Where is my mind”.

If the music of Räre Birds was a film, which film would that be?

A new take on an old spaghetti-western.

What would you change in the music industry?

Tricky question. A lot more than we have time for here. But, equal out the power in some sense. Partly so that bands and artists won’t be as dependent on the current platforms and their algorithms.

What is the story behind your name?

Really isn’t any. Sounded good.

Thank you!
