Coming from a very prestigious music college, what is your opinion about songwriting. Is it a talent or a skill?

I’m still learning classic music method. I try to combine jazz, and classic lessens to my composition.

Based in Japan but also spent time in the USA. What do you love/hate in each place?

fortunately, I really spend a great time in the USA. The best thing about being in America is that I have made friends from many countries. So, I could learn so my style of music from my friends. In Japan, I feel that many people want to play Jazz, but they don’t listen Jazz music. It’s strange things I feel. They just want to play.. and still many people love old style Jazz. I’ll try to make the place that young people can listen Jazz music.

Jazz music as a genre has been accused as music for snobs. Is jazz music elitist?

I think All Music is for All people. sometime, Jazz music should be for any people.

Favorite Japanese movie we should watch tonight?

I recommend STUDIO GHIBLIs movie (Castle in the Sky, Princess Mononoke) etc.
Picture is so beautiful and Music (comp. by Jo Hisaishi) is also emotional.

Thank you!
