MELO-T (ft. Idris Lawal, NEFE) – DO RE MI [Review]

Zimbabwean producer, musician and DJ, MELO-T has partnered up with afrobop crooner Idris Lawal and genre-defying artist NEFE on vocals for his new song, DO RE MI.

DO RE MI is part of the new EP, titled For The Culture 2 scheduled for release in early July (start preparing by playing the first album, For The Culture)

DO RE MI is super chill with distinct lounge, house and afrobeats elements, mixed in the just the right portions to create the ultimate summer sound. A perfect background music (which doesn’t go unnoticed) for chatting on a warm terrace, playing from your shitty speakers as you go for night swims in the ocean, or enjoying loud while dancing in the beach bar. Feel like enjoying a fresh, fruit juice with friends in the shadow of your backyard? Press play and move a bit… it’s been a looong winter.

The song feels simple. Easygoing. It does, however hide its own complexities. It is a homage to the amapiano sound that is a blend of deep house and jazz with a lounge touch. DO RE MI is a ticket to Gauteng. Fasten your seatbelt and hit play.
