Eve Maret – Gethsemani [Review]

In “Gethsemani,” which inspired by a weekend retreat at the oldest Catholic monastery in the US, Eve Maret uses in a very creative way a synth arpeggio that shifts between sixteenths and triplets to lead the way. Backed by a lush, heavily compressed and really heavy on reverb trip-hop infused beat and organic keys, Maret takes a bold producer’s risk by maintaining a single chord throughout the entire piece, yet she successfully sustains the listener’s attention from start to finish without losing its pull. The delicate vocals sit atop the mix, heightening the track’s ethereal atmosphere. Listen below!
