Describe your sound in 3 words
Aggressive, Dark, Unapologetic
Tell us a few things about CVNT$MASH€R. What is the main idea behind it?
Marie- After recording and listening to the instrumental track, before the lyrics were added, I knew CVNT$masH€R needed to be the name. It just has an energy that fits the namesake so perfectly. I sent the track off to Delia who wrote and performed the lyrics and she was able to really give this track the meaning and life it deserved.
“creep getting too close.” What inspired you to channel such a specific and often uncomfortable experience into a song? Was it a personal experience, an observation, or something else?
Delia- I wanted this song to have a feminist message. It’s really about the growth of a young girl who wants to be looked at, who wants to be sexy. She’s watching the DJ and doesn’t know what it’s like to be heard, and she is easily taken advantage of. Looking at her as a grown women though we see someone who needs protecting. This is a song about growing up and looking back and preventing pain for our younger selves/ younger women.
The weapon in the track is a paw-saw something I made up that would be like. saw attached to the hand of the women who cuts the hands off a man who is taking advantage of the younger women.
Should music as a form of art always challenge the listener?
Marie- I don’t necessarily think so, I think music can be anything the artist wishes it to be.
In which place or state of mind do you imagine people might listen to your music?
Marie- any state of mind, I like to think my music can’t be pinned down to one state of mind

Marie – Don’t believe everything you hear, and not everyone has your best interests in mind.
