Taxidermy – You Are Here Now [Review]

You are here now
You are here now
You are here now

Hot on the heels of their previous single, Danish band Taxidermy returns with “You Are Here Now,” the second track from their upcoming EP, “Let Go.” While we typically avoid featuring the same band so closely, this track simply demanded our attention.

“You Are Here Now” is defined by its thrillingly volatile dynamic shifts. Subtly tense verses build relentlessly, erupting into truly explosive choruses. Adding to the track’s visceral impact is the raw vocal delivery. Stripped of excessive effects, the vocals are expressive, conveying a palpable sense of agony. Written after an experience of falling out of love, the song captures the essence of a weakened and darkened mind, presenting a cynical, bleak view of the self and its surroundings. Taxidermy once again showcases impressive songwriting, understanding that genuine heaviness gains even more impact when interwoven with unease melodic themes. The guitar riffs are raw and gritty, yet possess a depth and substance.

Don’t just take our word for it – hit play below! And be sure to check out our recent interview with the band here for more insights into their music.
