Yzoula’s collaboration with Louis Fontaine La continues with “Promenade De La Jeune Sorcière,” the second offering from their forthcoming album. The track closely aligns with Louis Fontaine’s sound. In contrast to their first single, this piece leans heavily into an instrumental feel, where the vocals function as a melodic instrument – one that could seamlessly be translated by a vibraphone or a dreamlike organ. The songwriting is rich, retro infused and deeply melancholic. Picture yourself on a bridge, enveloped by the pristine silence of active noise-canceling headphones, the track your sole auditory focus. A train approaches from the horizon, soundless. While the cliché emphasizes the journey, it’s all about who was there with you in that journey. Yet, this train seems to echo across France, its destination a Greek port– one envisioned through the evocative words of Patricia Highsmith. And who knows. Yzoula may be there too. Listen below!
