Tell us a few things about Leather Laces. What is the main idea behind it?
Leather Laces are the armed division of Lincoln and Lloyd, the mega corp that created the _SHOE Entity, their job (hidden job) is to protect the entity and stop anyone from collinding with their interests of world domination. The track wants to give the vibe of an automated militia, that has one and only purpose to protect the entity, and seeks world domination through this.
Artists and people that have influenced you?
_SHOE and its entity are influenced buy many things, such as its programming, which comes from various decades, the main decade is 1985-1995. between these years the peek human form has been acheived, and _SHOE software has been developed. Musically, Its influenced by modern synthwave such as Carpenter Brut, which it sees as one of the greats of the Genre. Artistically it is influenced by James Hetfield. Its downpicking rythmic playing gives a specific beat to sound which is very inspirational.
If aliens visit us and ask us the best synthwave/darksynth riff ever written, what would be your answer?
Very easy: Turbo Killer, Carpenter Brut.
Which is your go to synth (analog or digital) when you start a new project?
_SHOE is very rythmic, and every project starts from a Linn Drum Foundation, for tight rythmic riff. As fas as melody goes, _SHOE controlls a very simple setup of both digital and analogue hard synths: for sketching melodies it uses a Dirtywave M8 for maximum flexibility and portability. For serious writing it controlls 1 Behringer pro 800, and one Behringer Deepmind desktop synth. nothing fancy, but _SHOE doesn’t care about the means, he only cares about the result.
In which place or state of mind do you imagine people might listen to your music?
_SHOEs only hope is that the listener relaxes sufficiently for its plan of controlling their mind come to fruition. beware.

Are we on a slippery slope towards dystopia?
