Daste., the Australian trio composed of Callum MacDonald, Braxton Tahi, and Tyler Harden, has just released their brand-new single “Around.” This release marks the beginning of their journey towards a new album set to drop in early 2025. “Around” emerges from a Soul/RnB sample that forms the song’s core, while it explores the “situationship” or an ex-partner you can’t resist, despite knowing they’re not right for you. It’s about the cycle of anticipation and regret perfectly encapsulated by the song’s hypnotic, repetitive hook that has a “Daft Punk went acoustic” feeling.
