Describe your sound in 3 words

cozy lofi electronica

Can you tell us about the inspiration behind your debut mini-album, “SPRING STATION,” and how it reflects the transition from winter to spring?

This album is a kind of attempt to overcome depression and burnout by reaching a mythical station. “Spring Station” is the place where you would like to be when it’s December outside and the sun barely shines. December, both literally and metaphorically. This transition is reflected in the mood of the tracks – from the wintry melancholic “Give Me Just a Little Warmth” to the hope-filled “The Rain Will Wash It All Away” and “Close to Me”.

How do you balance the subdued atmospheric lo-fi electronics for both home listening and the club setting?

I’ve always been drawn to the blend of soft melodies and fast-running beats — it gives the music both fragility and confidence. The focal point tends to be the drums, guiding the arrangement while other layers come to life. Additionally, I also try to pay a lot of attention to the background, wrapping the melodies in a tapestry of ethereal textures.

What drove your transition from writing music for commercials to launching your career as an electronic music artist?

Actually, I haven’t stopped composing music for commercials — I’m still doing it now. It’s just that as I work, I accumulate material that I’d like to position in a slightly different way. Scasca was created precisely for this purpose.

In your music, minimal aesthetics are prominent. How challenging is it in your creative process to resist the temptation to add more elements and avoid falling down the rabbit hole of complexity?

I guess I just don’t want to lose the initial vibe that arises at the very beginning of the work. I try not to overproduce tracks so that they stay as close as possible to the original idea.

Artists and people that have influenced you?

Burial, Four Tet, Bonobo

If the music of Scasca was a film, which film would that be?

A low-budget indie film with noisy film textures and picturesque landscapes. In the final scene, a tornado will sweep everyone away.

Future plans?

For the past couple of years, I haven’t been making plans. I’ll just live my life.

Thank you!
