Tell us a few things about 1v1 me!. What is the story behind it?
1v1 me! is about like that feeling when you finally get to fight your bully, it’s a nostalgic song. The sounds, the feel, the harmony, the time changes; the goal was to make something that resonated with my younger self. Something weird and gnarly but musically nutritious.
1v1 me! Has an experimental touch. Should music as a form of art always challenge the listener?
no way. Music should be chill like 98% of the time.
Artists and people that have influenced you?
my influences shift weekly; the ones who are always on rotation are Coltrane/Dolphy/Davis, Paul Chambers, Charlie Haden, Gary Peacock, Scott Lafaro, Art Ensemble of Chicago, and of course non jazz stuff like Portishead, Stereolab, Bjork, Radiohead, Thundercat, Flylo, JPEGMAFIA etc.
From Hawaii residing in Brooklyn, NY what do you love/hate about each place?
It’s nature versus music scene. Terrible scene in Hawaii, great hikes & cool birds. Beach sucks in New York, but the music here is bleeding edge.

I got arrested in 7th grade for stealing my teachers iPod, so I guess petty theft?\
