“A Budding Interest in Treason,” the latest single released by Tina Piranha, an Austin, Texas-based band, is a beautifully funky fusion of original, distinctive element. The instrumental track, which marks their fourth release of 2023, is characterised by its vivid horn lines, the percussion driven groove and some really catchy melodies. It’s as if Mulatu Astatke provided the infectious riffs while Gaslamp Killer produced a Turkish-inspired beat, resulting in a production that is sprinkled with Latin tones and filled with psychedelic allure and an air of mystique.
